My work is influenced by water and nature. Painted abstract waterscapes reflect more fluid ways of thinking that I like to explore in terms of gender, history and politics. Disjointed images seen in water reflections inspire new ways of seeing. Nature’s symbiotic relationships and interconnectivity inspire new ways of being. I incorporate this into my work by using overlapping, fragmented, abstract compositions of nature with saturated colour to suggest a different type of reality. I’m interested in giving credibility to the unknown, and seeing how this can give space for new ideas.
